Green corrosion on breaker terminals |

The wiring terminals behind my electrical circuit breaker panel have developed a green corrosion. I have brushed and cleaned the terminals off with a stiff nylon brush. And I have sprayed WD40 on it. The WD40 seems to keep it away for about a month and then it comes back. Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening and does anyone have a more permanent solution?

salt moisture is the culprit and you might have a slight leak that you need to find the source and rebed a fitting. While wd-40 is good... lps is better. Also if there is any green it will come back so cleaning with a brass or stainless fine brush is more better. A mild acid base cleaner also work well and once all clean and bright, spray with lps wipe off excess and your electrical resistance will go down.

the good stuff is called Corrosion Block. It seals the water from the parts. I use it everywhere the salt is not supposed to be!
