Greetings to all here,
I've been "lurking" on this forum for a while now....
, (and have also read most of the old forum)
I'm a life long sailor, and now a one and a half year owner of a C-250 Water Ballast on a trailer. (Our second Catalina, the first one was a C-30, about twelve years ago, which we kept on Lake Erie.) We are based in Eastern PA, and in the last year we've sailed the Chesapeake Bay several times, the Neuse River in NC, and Florida's east and West Coast. (Lots of miles on I-95). I've been a very active member on the 25-250 forum, 1000 posts, and greatly appreciate the support forums like these provide.
Even though I have done everything to make Lady Kay comfortable, including marine Air, the Admiral has decreed she wants to be able to stand up, and wants separate cabins for the rapidly growing children...(boy/girl-6/12). I can't argue with her.
So, after selling some other "toys", and cooking the family books as best I could, I am now looking, amongst others, at early C-42's, three cabin. We've spent hours in front of the computer, and are at the point to actually go out and see some boats.
I invite any of you with the experience of owning a Mark-I to tell me what specifically to look for when checking out this model.
Thanks in advance.
