Hi Mark I haven't done the main winches, but I did do the starboard secondary winch which is what I use to extend and reef the mainsail. Lewmar provides a drilling template so the task of mounting the winch is relatively straight forward. The caveat is that you will either need to buy a shaft extension so the winch can mate to the motor and transmission through the coach roof because the mating flanges cannot accommodate the thickness of the mounting area. On Threepenny Opera I needed to gain about 1" in order for the two halves to join together. I had a machinist friend make a spacer disk that fit between the winch base and the transmission flange, instead of ordering the Lewmar parts, because I didn't know I needed it until I had a gaping hole cut into the coach roof and no secondary winch. Once I had the spacer, I also needed to buy a shorty wrench in order to tighten the bolts down. For the main winches, I suspect you will have similar challenges. Catalina embeds an aluminium plate under the existing winch so if you need to reorient the base of the winch, as I did, to achieve the motor and transmission orientation, you will also need to have the appropriate drills and taps to thread a hole for 1/4"x20 bolts, or if you prefer 8M bolts in metric.
