Over the weekend I attended C42 Fleet #1's holiday brunch in Long Beach. We discussed several topics, but one caught my attention. One of the guys has the 44 HP 4JHBE Yanmar. Just before starting his Yanmar, he checked the oil dip-stick. He could see water on it (actual water drops, not milky oil). Luckily, he didn't start it. His mechanic traced it to a faulty oil cooler. Btw, his engine is still running fine, lucky guy!

Since I wasn't familiar with an oil cooler on our Yanmars, I asked google. I eventually got pointed to the link below. Pretty good service manual. I know it's not exactly for our engine, but if you look at enough sketches, it looks quite familiar. I haven't digested it too much, but thought I'd share this link.

Wow, just found another version (for 4JH3 series, but turbocharged),

Btw, I recently bought a few Yanmar fuel filters on ebay. I see in this guy's history he has also sold some Racor elements... May want to put him in your list of favorites,
