Has anyone replaced their main halyard sheave or any of the sheaves with new ones? Are there any upgrades such as ball bearing ones? I am looking to replace mine due to a constant squeak, I would love to have ball bearing ones if any are available.

I got the Garhauer replacement w/ball bearings. HUGE differerence. Not expensive, not hard for a rigger or even an experrienced owner. Wish I had replaced all and not just the main. I will when I can easily get some parts sent down. James White Star #450 Puerto Vallarta |

James do you remember what size the sheaves where and also where you got them. Garhauer does not advertise the ball bearing ones on their website.

I just emailed them and told them what hull number of 42 I had and that I heard they had a replacement and they sent it right down. ( I have had great success in contacting Garhauer direct with stuff and have a friend that even has them custom build things for him) Can't remember what the price was but it didn't seem too high or I might not have done it.
