Can anyone tell me a good way to secure the items on the top and bottom port shelves behind the settee in a cosmetically appealing fashion on my 1989 42'? Photos appreciated.

If you check the project photo seciton of the C42 International web site, I believe there may be some photo of what I think are called "fiddles", a teak strip placed accross the area to create a containment and restraint piece.
My wife simple cut some rubber mat shelve liner and placed on the base of the shelve area. On a few nick nack items, she glued the same material to the base. Velcro is always a possibility, however the residue from the glue makes it less than a desirable means of securing nick nacks |

Mounting putty (also known as museum putty), available at Home Depot/Lowes, works well for securing knick-knacks.....and it comes of without a trace.
