Posts: 122 10/03/05 09:05:07	Tags : None Ok gang, this is your oppurtunity to have some fun! I have a 3 cabin centerline (#835). The nav station is located on the port side near the port aft cabin in the corner. At present, the cabinet above the table have a TV/VCR combo, a small inverter for it, the stero and the VHF radio. I would like to get rid of the TV and basically make the whole nav station more user friendly. I have a dedicated marine lap top and I would like to incorporate it the cabinet in such a way as to keep it portable but also keep it secure while sailing. In the future I wouuld like to have some of the helm insturments (chartplotter/radar?)located at the nave station for redundency. Any ideas, suggestions, thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Posts: 23 10/03/05 20:36:49	I have a 3 cabin CL #880 and looked closely at the nav station when we got the boat. The angled cabinet is a bit awkward and with the advent and availability of small flat screen TV's seems like a waste of a lot of space. The cabinet looks like it could be removed and one that ran straight back over the elec panel could go back in its place giving you much more flat surface to mount equipment in. We mounted a 13" Sharp Aquos LCD on a pivoting bracket that is out of the way and works great just above the nav station on the port stateroom bulkhead. I am in the process of removing the tambour door and either epoxying it to a piece of plywood or having a new door made like whats already there. If I epoxy the tambour to a piece of 1/2" plywood and cut it to fit the opening. I then can mount it with a set of hinges to open out and allow easy access to the locker. I plan to set a removable panel on the side closest to the electronics to protect them and the wiring already in place. Then we will use the cabinet for storage, liquor rack, glasses, tall items, etc. Go for it and when your done post some photo's. Michael Take Five

Posts: 40 10/22/05 18:19:23	I've got the "angled" nav station on WindCatcher (#618 ). I've mounted a double-height car stereo/cassette/CD toward the top and across the bottom a Raytheon Multi and a Raytheon GPS which provide all the infomation on the SeaTalk bus. Just the information needed at the nav station. Personally, I try to get away from TV aboard. I'm sure I have many times the weight of a TV in the onboard library, adding to the usual C-42 port list. I can email you photo's if you like. Mounted above the nav station, it lays flat on the bulkhead and can be swung out to improve viewing angle.
