Below is first of Eric's famous "UPdates". If you sail anywhere in the Pacific Northwest, or are interested in joining us by foot, car, ferry, airplane, etc, be sure to send Eric a note to get on his mailing list.
The big change this year is the addition of Friday as an official event day. Many will be arriving Thursday night - arrive when you can! Last year, every slip was full. Gary is working to make some additional room for us, and we'll get creative if we need to.
We are working on guest speakers and other activities. If you have any suggestions, please shout it out! We are looking to make this the biggest and best C42 Rendezvous ever.
Where: Rosario Resort, Orcas Island, San Juans, WA
When: April 24-27
Why: To meet other owners and discuss larger Catalinas and get to know your boat better.
Who: Catalina 42 owners and owners of Catalinas 38 +
*Last year there were 13 C-42s, 1 C-470, 1 C-390, 1 C-38, 1 CM38cc, 1 CM440 (There were at least 5 boats down from BC!)
*Several owners, representing about 7 boats, who drove in without boats and stayed at the resort.
*There was a meeting of the National C-42 officers
*Keynote speaker Andy Schwenk, owner of NW Rigging.

Cost: $30 a night moorage fee. The rendezvous is free.
Activities and Schedule (tentative)
Thursday April 24: Arrive and network. Pick up registration packet (All registered boats) (name tags and boat info from our C-42 National Commodore Ken Fischer.)
Note about tides There is a minus tide during this period. Please pay attention to our dock manager and C-42 owner, Gary Joseph when docking and leaving.
Friday, April 25 Boat Show (Theme to be determined by input from all, eg Pirates, Rock and Roll, Military, Ballroom, Beach wear, etc ) All boats to be open for inspection and boarding of guests from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Awards pending for best snacks, most innovative display, best boat card, etc
Saturday, April 26 Guest speaker and technical forum. 10:00 AM speaker, 2:00 PM tech discussion Musical History of Rosario (no cost and fun) 5:00PM (runs 1.5 hours) Pot Luck Dinner on dock at 6:30
Sunday, April 27 Depart after getting new phone numbers and contact info from all your new friends. Have a safe sail home.
