I took ownership of my Catalina MKI 1989 in 2004 and always had a very tiny stream of saltwater coming into the bilge . Apparently through the little
pipe hole going somewhere underneath the engine pane. Never paid
enough attention to it, but can exclude any through-hull, stuffing box or engine leak. Its gotten worse and we put the boat on the hard. Our suspicion is
either somewhere around the shaft water leaks in. I'm looking also at stress cracks around the hull where the engine sits, but they look normal and I
honestly hope they don't cause it. So we are thinking about re-glassing the area where the shaft leaves the hull?
Any ideas how to further pin down the leak are highly appreciated. I know this is not much info, but we a bit puzzled by it, too.
