The switch on the electrical control panel flips to the off position. Second problem: it is excessively noisy when in use. Any suggestions? Dave Kauppi AVALON 636

Posts: 73 01/05/08 06:54:36	Belt driven diaphragm pumps make a lot of noise, this is normal. But a pump that causes a circuit breaker to trip is faulty and needs serviced/replaced or there is a chance that the circuit breaker itself is bad. You can check the current draw with an amp meter in series to see if its a bad breaker. To get rid of the noise many owners have gone with the newer VSD series pumps. Good luck. John

Posts: 108 01/07/08 04:17:09	I adressed that same problem with Catalina - they told me that they had used the wrong circuit breaker and I should install a 15 amp breaker - did not solve the problem. I replaced the old pump with the new automatic (say: expensive) kind - problem solved. Peter C'est la Vie Hull #746
