If you're in the S.F. Bay Area, I can recommend a terrific canvass guy. When I replaced my old dodger this year, I collected estimates from 4 canvass shops -- this guy was recommended by the marina office and several of my boat neighbors. His price was 50% less, work was done on time, and he threw in a new matching cover for my ourboard motor. He works on lots of C42's, so he can give you a quote over the phone. Price variances will depend on what you want -- number of window panels, covers, etc. I had no idea about the number of my window panels until I had to count them. My old dodger had 9, with a Sunbrella-stitched seam in between each one....I had the new dodger made with 5 -- a solid one on each side and a zippered, roll-up center section in front. Look at some examples on boats around your dock before you order.
