I now have a constant odor coming from my forward 1993 holding tank under the pullman berth. Has anyone found that the older plastic tank permeates odor.
There are no leaks or seeps in the hoses. My concern is if I replace all the hoses and the smell was the tank and not the hoses.

Hi Chris,
Our boat is the same vintage--and we've replaced all the hoses on both holding tanks. That made a huge difference-an improvement, yet there is still a slight odor--we believe the tanks are permeated too. We've found that Ronco in California has direct replacement tanks, reasonably priced, and plan to ultimately get new ones. Meantime, we try to keep ours empty, rinsed often and treated with Odorlos. My boat is the same year as yours.When i bought it three years ago I had it completely re-plumed,all new hoses ,inspection plates cut into tanks,tanks pressure
cleaned and a capacity indicator installed.Odor has been gone since then, but I rarely use it.Only when away from dock overnight.I feel the Marine growth
inside the thru hulls creates most of that fowl odor.This subject has been discussed many times on the board.Be sure to flush really well with fresh water and
vinegar after emptying tanks.Good luck.
