Posts: 39 08/14/08 16:02:48	Tags : None I am thinking about adding a separate freezer for extended cruising on our Cat 42 MKII tricabin. Has anyone done this? We are thinking about using the space currently occupied by the microwave. All suggestions welcome. We want to leave the current fridge as is for short trips. Has anyone used a portable freezer? Posts: 8 08/14/08 16:17:01	We use a Waeco CF-35 portable 120V-AC/12-DC freezer on AirWaves and it works great with less current draw than the built-in refrigerator/freezer. It will keep ice for at least 3 days even when turned off. We keep it on the floor of the galley aft of the existing refrigeratro/freezer door next to the engine access area.

Posts: 144 08/15/08 03:19:07	Not what you asked, but FWIW, we moved our evaporator unit to the bottom of the existing refrigerator compartment, installed some removable shelf boards over it, turned the thermostat down, and presto, freezer in the bottom, refrigerator above the shelf.
