Posts: 47 12/20/07 15:06:18	Tags : None fellow capns I just bought my 89 3 cabin in june and I have yet bothered to inspect my bilge pump.during the survey I was told it was under the seat by my surveyor and too hard to get to.it worked fine all summer so I never bothered with it, I have noticed lately that the auto is not coming on like it was, so I think I should try to investigate it now. Do I have to remove the seat or is it under a floor panel. Any help would be appreciated. Phil second wind annapolis #95

Posts: 216 12/20/07 21:42:42	Hello Phil, We can see ours by lifting the small cover just aft of the settee. If yours is located further forward you have to remove the seat. It's not a big job. Take the cushions off and remove the drawers. The seat is held down with 2 bolts and wing nuts. Once it's out the floor panel is held in with a few sheet metal screws. Posts: 51 12/28/07 14:43:55	Hi Phillip, We had the same problem last season. We replaced the float switch and all was well. Yes...you will have to remove drawers and setee to access the pump. There will also be a multitude of screws to remove the floor board. WARNING: BE SURE TO TAKE YOUR TIME, WEAR SHOES, AND BE CAREFUL NOT TO KNEEL OR STEP ON THE TWO BOLTS PROTRUDING FROM THE FLOOR AFTER YOU REMOVE THE SETEE...I WAS IN A HURRY AND I DID STEP ON IT. I took the floor boards off today and found it okay it looks like all the connections are corroded I will take them apart on sunday and see what happens.The setee seat is pretty neat I did not know that it could be slid in to give you more room in the galley.I am still finding out things about this boat six months after taking delivery.I did notice on an old forum you had looked at second wind back in 2000 but did not buy it and I just wondered why you did not.Since you live nearby I am on the magothy in deep creek maybe we could raft over dobbins I still have a lot to learn about the boat Phil second wind
