My 1999 Mk II, TOROA, has a Seaward Products three burner stove. The safety interlocks on the top burners work OK (if a bit slowly) but the oven seems to
have a mind of its own. After about a minute holding in the interlock button, the larger pilot flame lights but after that the oven sometimes refuses to fire
up at all. It is particularly bad if the cylinder is near to empty (but still running the top burners OK).
I imagine the mercury control valve needs to be replaced but would like to be sure before I buy the parts and tear the stove down.
Has anyone had the same problem, does the mercury control valve need changing and how big a job is it to fix? Should I also change the oven pilot interlock while I have it in pieces?
On a separate point, my boat is in Europe and it is impractical to obtain propane. Does anyone have experience using Camping Gas butane with the Camping Gas 28mb regulator?
Kind Regards

Bill,
Our oven refused to heat up after the pilot light came on. I purchased a replacement control but didn't install it, since if you rapped the control, it
again worked fine. I am keeping the replacement unit as a spare. On my C-34, I did replace the unit (relatively easy). If you call Seaward products, they will
take you through a diagnostic. The replacement unit cost much less than $100.
