We a 1990 3 cabin, Hull 215. I have replaced the water heater twice due to some stray current in our marina. Both were replaced by SeaWard under warrenty. That was before I installed an galvanic isolator. No problems since then.

Anyway, the first time I removed it in parts by taking the square metal box off of the round tank, but when I put the new one back in I just removed the muffler and the riser at the rear of the engine and the heater went in right over the top of the engine.

The second one was the same. The only difference would be if you have a turbo and then there may be an additional issue.

If I was going to replace the heater today, I would really think about going back with a 6 gal tank instead of the 11 gal original. This would let you heat water quicker, either under power or at the docks.
