Has anyone ever heard of a sweet spot? It is supposed to be that spot on the boat, used when docking, so that when you attach a spring line to that spot the boat will move ahead, parallel to the dock, coming closer to the dock, neither stern or bow in.
I use the midship cleat for the spring line, but that results in pulling the bow in. If I knew the spot, I could atach a line to the midship cleat, run it through an extra genoa car (just to creat the angle) and stop the boat. If someone has some experience with this, it would save me a lot of time and and extra bumps. Thanks
