Posts: 20 05/08/06 00:35:26	Tags : None Hi, I won't really do this justice, my partner has a better understanding of this area, but alas, I'm the one who lurks on the discussion boards. Has anyone had any difficulties with any of the engine gauges? The Yanmar guy said our temperature gauge "needs calibration", but since it isn't the Yanmar gauge, he's not calibrating. Also, our tacho is frozen. We'd like an oil pressure gauge. The Yanmar people can't work out why their Yanmar gauges are not used on the instrument panel. Like I said, not a great thread starter, but if anyone has had any related difficulties, I'd like to know how it all worked out from you. Thank you, chris

Posts: 195 05/08/06 06:29:46	Chris, far as I know Seaward builds the engine panel and they use modified Tempo gauges. There has always been an incompatability between the Yanmar temp sender and Tempo gauge that makes temp read low. Somewhere on this or the old forum there is a thread on how to change the Yanmar sender. Rick 704-3

Posts: 246 05/11/06 04:24:10	After gauges stopped working I had seaward replace the panel. The new panel for the pod did not fit properly for the tach was a different size. Used the old panel moved the tach 1/4 of an inch, used new instument in old panel with no problem. The new cluster did not have an oil pressure gauge so I bought a faria with no problem. The wiring is straight forward, just a bit time consuming. Do not know if this helps. I do notice tach is about 500 rpms lower than previous tach on the reading.

Posts: 7 05/13/06 20:57:10	I had this problem also. I noticed that the engine temperature gauge read low (about 145 degrees). I think I found something about this on the old board. I remember something about the Yanmar dealer in Florida supplying the proper sender, but the west coast dealer using the original Yanmar supplied sender. The Seward part number for the sender is IS211Y. My gauge now reads correctly - about 170 degrees with a normally hot engine. Had this taken care of during commissioning.
