I mocked one up out of a old reaching strut that lays in the open bow roller and slid back into the chain locker. I have some pics I can send if you like. I planned to locate a pad eye on the back off the locker to attach it to. Then to make a stainless steel strap that would attach to the bolt holding the roller in place. It would be bent "half round" to the dimension of the tube section holding it in place. It was designed to stick out in front of the bow pulpit about 18".

The other solution was to fabricate a plate about 6" long that would bolt into place between the sides of the bow roller. The roller on my boat (880) is already pre drilled with holes that would work. On this plate I was going to mount a stand up block that a tack line could then be run back to the cockpit.

I have a heavy duty bail I got from Garhauer bolted on with a block help up with an bungee I made to fit. The tack line runs back on Garhauer stantion blocks to a rope clutch on a track slide they made for me. The line then runs to a block behind it and to the double foot block or the winch.

I have used it twice with the AYSO and it works fine.
