Posts: 5 05/19/08 11:39:46	Tags : None I have an Adler / Barbour CU100 with R134a. I had a leak in one of the couplings which I fixed, I lost some coolant. I need to give it a little charge of refrigerant and have been advised to add R134a on the "low pressure" side of the compressor. Can any one tell me where or which fitting is the "low pressure" ?

Posts: 216 05/19/08 13:51:06	The compressor has a horizontal seam around the "equator" There are 2 taps above the seam and 1 below. The one below is the high pressure discharge. The ones above feed a common chamber and either can be used as the low pressure tap. If the unit is still making some cold you should be able to tell which one is the high pressure side because it will be warm while the low pressure side is cold. If it isn't still working you will need to evacuate, dry and refill wth R-134. It any case it is not as simple as just "putting in a little more juice" because you don't want to over-fill the system.
