I heard recently that the marina that I store my boat in may have some issues with stray currents. Some of the tenants have purchased seperate zinc anodes
which can be lowered over the side and are typically clamped to the chain plate. When I measure resistance between chain plate and internal engine/batter
ground I see about 100 ohms. Does anyone know why the mast and chain plate would be isolated from internal ground? Does it have anything to do with the
Galvanic Isolator that is installed on new Catalina boats? Also, is the use of the additional zinc over the side recommended, and is there a more appropriate
place to ground it to?
