The Technical Specifications published by Catalina for the MkII winged keel specify a draft of 4' 10". I have heard that this may be
"optimistic." Does anyone know what the draft of a fully laden vessel (e.g.,, full water tanks, holding tanks, fuel and the "usual" amount
of cruising gear assuming 25-40 feet of chain and nylon rope rode, a 45 lb. Delta anchor, etc.) is likely to be?

I have pretty heavily laden MKII, 150 chain, 100gals water, ~60 gals fuel + 10 gals in jerry cans, full settees, enough tools to build a boat, and an aft bunk that looks like a west marine garage sale. I used a tape measure to check the water line and found that 4'10" is pretty close, but to be conservative, I always list 5' as my actual draft. Addison
