In the past someone had a problem with the U-plate corroding especially on the starboard side. I've noticed corrosion on our boat under the galley sink (3 cabin model). I suspect green water is getting in from the deck chainplate.
My question is about the procedure for rebedding this chainplate. I can take the tension off the shrouds and remove the 4 screws. Will this permit me to raise the plate or do I also need to unscrew the tensioning rod? Any help is appreciated.
