        <![CDATA[ I have Weaver snap davits installed on the rear swim platform of my Catalina 42. I have a 9'6&quot; x 4 6&quot; Avon inflatable mounted on them. When I pull up the Avon to its vertical position it covers the stern navigation light. I have not been able to find a 135-degree pole mounted stern light to raise a new stern light over the top of the dingy.             During commissioning with our new C42 I realized that the stern light was to be blocked by a dink on the Kato Davits I was getting.  The dealer mounted a stearn light on the cross bar between the 2 Davit arms.  The new light is 2 to 3 feet higher than original which should improve visability a bit also.<br>

            We had the same problem and ended up mounting the stern light on the outer support rail of the davits. It looks good and works well and is out of the way.<br>

			<description><![CDATA[ Nelson, You have run into a situation that many owners have experienced with rail mounted nav lights. The only solution is to re-locate the stern light to a place where none of your extraneous equipment gets in the way of its visibility to other vessels. For example, I wasn't pleased with the the way my rail hung outboard was blocking the stern light from certain angles so I simply removed the light and re-positioned it under my radar antennae on my stern mounted pole.
