During commissioning with our new C42 I realized that the stern light was to be blocked by a dink on the Kato Davits I was getting. The dealer mounted a stearn light on the cross bar between the 2 Davit arms. The new light is 2 to 3 feet higher than original which should improve visability a bit also.

We had the same problem and ended up mounting the stern light on the outer support rail of the davits. It looks good and works well and is out of the way.
