The mirrors in both my heads are starting to show what I believe is moisture intrusion from the bottom. Essentially it turns the mirror finish on the back of the plastic to a grey color. Seem like something that will only get worse over time.
Wondering whether others have a similar problem and if there is any fix. All three of mine are on the head cabinet doors.

As I wrote before.Call your local plastic company .Ask them if they carry the new Acrylite brand of acrylic mirror. It is good quality mirror without the distortion of regular acrylic mirror.I would never use glass there.

At some point I was considering putting a solar film on the bottom side of my hatches to reduce the effects of the sun inside the boat. Several people said I couldn't do that, so I called the 3M division that handles that product. They told me that plexiglass continually emits a gas that collects under the film and eventually becomes a big mess.

I wonder if that's what's happening here?

Plexi mirror is the stuff they use in House of Mirrors haunted houses. It's not really good mirror. It has the basic mirror covering pread over the back side of the acrylic and it comes off very easily. What your seeing is probably abrasions from something scratching it.
ACRYLITE has a new mirror sheet that they say is better quality and is opticly better .Check it out with your local plastic fabricator.

I have the same on Lady Kay's fromt mirror....the mirrors are not glass with silver, they are plexiglass with who knows what on the back..... If you remove them you can easily replace them at a glass supply. No fix that I know of.....
