What size Martec Autostream prop?

         Catalina installed an 18" Autostream based on being the same size as the stock 3-blade. I always felt the prop was not as efficient as it should be. Now I hear that the recommended prop is at least 19". I'm curious what size other owners have on their C42.

I just measured my Autostream prop and it is a 19" which pushes the boat at 7.2 knots at 2600 RPM and can actually hit 8.1 at wide open throttle. That gets the revs up to 3200 and climbing slowly but who does that?

I lubed it and put a new tapered zinc. I have the S1 model and am impressed with it. Apparently it is distributed by Martec. The cost is about $2500

Per the recommendation of Martec, 8 years ago hull 600 was fitted with a 20" Martec 3-blade feathering prop. I understand Martec measured Garry's clearance and determined 20" would work & is the largest that could be installed.
I'm extremely happy with the prop, absolutely no issues.
~~~~_/)~~~~
I recall that mine was a 19" on my C42 #836.  Prop functioned fine over the course of three plus years with no problems.  Annoyingly, at a haul out last month the installation was determined to be screwy and the cone zinc had fallen of after only three months.  There was reported deterioration of the adjusting screw, however when the prop was returned to the Mfgr/distrib. it simple cleaned up and was reassembled.  They reported that the threads on the shaft had been shortened inhibiting...
