In the aft lockers, I would like to screw a couple of hooks to the inside bulkhead (the wall between the locker and the swim platform walkthrough) from which to hang lines and the fenders.
Does anyone happen to know the thickness of this wall? I do not want to drill all the way through, and need to know how long the screws can be.

Hi Ernie and others

My WM stainless hanger fell apart...... I gave up on it. Long ago I drilled through both port and starboard side and placed some wood strips. I cannot recall the thickness. But then I mounted some Rostan ?) black hanger hooks... the ones that you can put the cording through..... and that holds our mooring lines, mop, pail full of sponges and brushes, etc. I also put brass hooks on the port side shelf and that holds our smaller 4...

My solution was to fasten the WM Stainless Line Hanger (S&J Products), links below, to the edge of the lazarette shelf (port and stbd). In fact, I had room for two on each side. On the aft wall of the lazarettes, I installed a folding step which really facilitates access to the lazaretts.

Just a double pole 30 amp breaker, the box is 1/2" plywood there is about 1" between the breaker and the inside of the box.
But I wouldn't hang anything from it the screws that fasten the box to the hull are made to support the box nothing else plus, Catalina took great pains to make this unit there has to be an electrical/mechanical reason not to do it.

I've installed sacks in both lazarettes so that gear I stow there does not slide around. To be safe, I expoxied a pieces of 1X2 the fore and aft side of the opening and then attached the hooks to the wood. This has worked great.

We installed about 5 ceiling mount bi-directional brass coat hooks under the lazarette shelf in our 89 with 1/2 inch brass wood screws. . We mounted them just on the edge but under the shelf so you wont snag them when climing down into the lazarette. I hang spare docking lines from them and they work great. They are about 1/2 arms length away when standing in the cockpit.

I also tie lines to life jacket bags and attach to hooks so I can pull the bag up...
