What should be used: 2, 10 or 30 micron filter??
Yanmar says 30 micron and 10 micron on the secondary filter.
A very large Catalina dealer says 2 micon on the primary filter.
Has anyone had problems using a 2 micon filter on the primary filter??
            Thanks

I've used the Racor 2 micron on the separator since the boat was new - 1989, and the standard Yanmar secondary filter with never a fuel starve problem. Key is to keep the fuel fresh. I change the primary filter every 120 hours - more often than needed probably - and I use Biobar and never fill the tank beyond 1/2 unless we're taking a long trip. This keeps the fuel fresh and eliminates most of the crap that forms in old fuel, biobar or not.

Use 30 micron as per recommendation of Yanmar. This protects the warranty. Others have used smaller filters with no problems that I know of recently, but some of the earlier engines had fuel starvation issues with the smaller filters. Both Catalina dealer in Deltaville, VA and Yanmar rep in Norfolk, VA told me to use the 30 micron Raycor and then the standard (whatever it is) Yanmar filter on the engine. So that's what I do.
