I have recently purchased a 1999 42' catalina Mark 2. We have noticed that the galley sink is slow to drain. Upon inspection I noticed that the sink outlet is below the water line. That seems to me to be a problem right there. The outlet hose would always have some salt water in it. We have managed to get around this problem by cupping a hand over the sink drain and pushing down (kind of a plunger action). This seems to get the water flowing. Has anyone else experienced this?

Before leaving the dock at the brokerage for the 60nm trip to our home, I decided to fill the water tanks. I placed a hose in one of the filler openings and turned on the water. Water began backing up in the filler, so I turned down the pressure and everything seemed to be OK. After 10 mins. or so, I noticed that the bilge pump was beginning to cycle on and...
