Hello everyone,

Norm Perron who is our webmaster, former Commodore of the 42 Association and all around good guy and a friend to all of us has asked me to let you all know that he recently had a tragic accident while working on his mast. Norm unfortunately fell from the lower spreader and landed on his tailbone fracturing many bones in his body. Hello Catalina 42 Owners around the SF Bay Area,

Ok, here are some updates to next Friday's gathering at the Oakland sailboat show.

As mentioned before, it will be held in the tents at the Garhauer Marine booth #540 at 1700 hours. Since that is typically happy hour time, there will be free wine/beer and snacks for all 42 owners. How happy is that?? Plus, there will be a drawing for a $100.00 gift...

I have been the C-42 Fleet 9 Captain for about 2 years now. I find that I am unable to devote the time necessary that this job requires. Fleet 9 deserves a better, more hands on Fleet Captain. Please let me know if you are interested.

Catalina Yachts is planning a celebration of hull #1000 at Catalina Yachts in Marina del Rey, Ca. on March 29th 2008 and you are all invited to attend. The Catalina 42 is the most successful over 40' boat in the history of production boats and this will be a great time to come down and see the additional factory improvements made to this vessel. Passing of Harvey Duryee, Malocclusion, badbite2000

It is with great sadness I must inform everyone we just lost one of our members, badbite2000. Harvey & Chris Duryee owned C42 Malocclusion, hull 731, in San Pedro, part of Los Angeles Harbor. He loved C42's so much, this is actually his second C42. Harvey & Chris were scheduled to attend the C42 Fleet 1 holiday brunch in mid December, but needed to cancel at the last minute, for health reasons. Lets all wish his family condolences to Chris and his family.

C-42 Orcas Island Spring Rendezvous

This is an invitation to any who can make it. We are having our Spring C-42 Rendezvous at Rosario Resort on Orcas Island in the San Juans.

This is a full service resort with lots of rooms and cabins if you don't want to sail your boat to Washington but would like to see a great fleet of boats all hanging out. We had 12 show up last year at Deer Harbor.
